Originally designed in 1945 for Gino of Capri restaurant, affectionately known as "Gino's" by New Yorkers, Scalamandre restored the Zebras wallcovering at this iconic Upper East Side establishment in 1973 after the walls were damaged by fire. This lively pattern depicts two Zebras prancing around politely placed arrows set against a lively colored ground. The playful and captivating design instantly captivated audiences, quickly joining the product line and ultimately achieving fame through appearances in notable films such as Wes Anderson's "The Royal Tenenbaums".
